A warm welcome to all the eighth grade students and their parents. We welcome two new children this year, Roderick Belcher and Abigail Galves who have been a great addition to what is already a wonderful class.

As you may be aware, last year was a very successful year for our Saint Anne eighth grade. All 29 of our children were accepted into their first school of choice. I am sure we can do the same thing this year. We are also a much smaller class which is always advantageous.

I have been really pleased with how the year has started. I have seen a lot of maturity and an amazing willingness to help make this a special year. Attendance and punctuality have been commendable and an overall commitment to academics has been apparent from the start.

I look forward to each new day with my students and hope that they feel the same! I will update this blog as I find out dates and times for High School meetings, open houses and HSPT tutoring at Loyola High School. This can be an overwhelming year for everyone concerned as it is pivotal in a child's continued success. We will stay well ahead of everything and please know I am happy to answer any questions however small. I gave you my cell number at Back To School Night and I invite you to use it if you are worried about anything. You can also reach me at abrown@saintanneschool.com or call the office and speak to Francis. I am happy to meet with you at any time.

As I'm sure you have been made aware, we have a Smart Board in eigth grade this year. It is an amazing teaching tool bringing a whole new dimension of learning into the room. The children are enjoying it very much.

Please always remember that your children's homework is for them and not for you. They need to show their effort but if they do not understand, that is the purpose of homework to let them see what they have not understood.

I look forward to working with you to make your children the very best they can be, it is important that this is an enjoyable year and one that makes the transition to high school a comfortable and confident experience.

God bless you for all you do for your children

Anna Brown
